Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
