Heavy Precipitation Aggravate Circumstances for Evacuated Palestinians in Gaza, Agencies Caution
Persistent precipitation over the recent period have worsened the already dire circumstances of the vast number of evacuated civilians in the territory, according to relief groups.
"Awful" Conditions Creates Serious Risks
A official characterized the weather overnight as "horrendous", with rain so heavy that up to 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the terrain.
"These conditions was exceptionally difficult for the families. The heavy rains were so powerful... And the gales were so strong," said the representative.
There is grave concern that minors living in tents in soaked clothing will succumb to hypothermia and various sicknesses.
Deaths and Extensive Loss
The health ministry have stated that one baby has passed away from hypothermia and at least 11 other people have been killed in building collapses triggered by the severe weather.
Further statements put a increased fatality count. Officials reported that multiple homes had collapsed completely and many others had sustained partial collapse.

Relief Operations Considered Inadequate
Groups have stepped up deliveries of tents, bedding and clothes since the halt in hostilities commenced, but they have said there is still not enough aid reaching those in need.
"We are operating tirelessly to provide that relief and to allocate it, but the scale of the necessities is so enormous that we are faced with thousands of families and minors who are truly enduring hardship every night," stated one official.
Long-Term Challenges and Agreement Plans
